Red!!

I found these red glass beads at the same time, and could not resist them.  The colour was so stunning.  They are glass beads that appear to have an inner metallic lining.

Again, I kept both patterns pretty simple.  This necklace is 20".  Unfortunately, I did not have enough for a bracelet.

Silver round spacer beads.

 This necklace is 19".

I used clear glass seed needs and silver patterned beads as spacers here.

Long Silver Byzantine

I love the byzantine pattern.  And, it is relatively easy to put together, once I remember the order.  For this, I wanted something long and versatile.  I used 16 gauge, 5/16" aluminium rings.

The necklace is about 68" long.  I have worn it long, doubled, or with a knot in it.  There is no clasp.

The bracelet is double-wrap length, so could also be worn as a choker.

Here it is with a knot in it.  However, I realized as I started posting, that it isn't the best picture of the knot I usually tie.  It is basically an overhand knot, with only one strand on the over; it has a slip knot effect on the bottom loop.

Here is a close-up of the byzantine pattern.

Green Glass

These green glass beads were on sale.  They make a beautiful noise when they clink together.  This is just a simple 3-strand necklace.  However, I have more beads, and am trying to figure out what to do with them.

The shortest strand is 19.5".

I used clear glass seed beads as spacers.  I love how the green almost seems to glow in the light here.

Brightly Coloured Decorative Chain Maille Set

This is a sort of modified captured ring pattern that I found in "Step by Step Wire Jewelry".  It was the pattern that caused me to find a great online source of jump rings.

The necklace is about 20" long.  The earrings are one repeat of the pattern.  Unfortunately, the green rings have a tendency to flip over the blue ring, throwing the balance off a bit.  I would try to find slightly smaller ones next time.

All rings are 16 gauge anodized aluminum.  The big rings are 5/16" and the smaller ones are 1/4".

This is a close-up showing the pattern.

Glow-in-the-dark Chain Maille

I saw these fabulous glow-in-the-dark rubber rings and had to have them.  They could add a bit of stretch to the jewelry (if used in a different pattern).  But they mainly add fun and colour.  During the day, they just look neon.  But, at night they glow mildly, and under black light, they seem to fluoresce.

The jump rings are 16 gauge 5/16" aluminium.  I made three lengths that are just a little over 18".  This length works well for both choker and double-wrap bracelet.

White and Black

Sometimes, I luck into stones that just strike me as too pretty to mix into complicated pieces.  Sometimes simple is best.  These white stones fell into that category.

Left long, it is about 36".

Here is a close-up of the white stones.  They almost look like a bunch of chips held together with a black resin.

Because of its length, and because I put a clasp in, the necklace can be worn doubled as a choker.

Copper Byzantine

I have always loved copper.  Especially after it starts developing its patina.  I found these great copper jump rings online, so went about creating a statement necklace.  And, I like sets, so have a matching bracelet and earrings.

I used 18 gauge 5/32" copper for this.  I have worn the set about a half dozen times, so the patina is just starting.

Wrap Bracelets

I have been totally obsessed with wrap bracelets lately.  I cannot seem to make enough of them.  I want to wear them all the time.  However, they do not lend themselves to a matching set with earrings and a necklace.  A similarly styled necklace would look a lot like a collar.  If anyone has any good earring ideas, please let me know.

Here is the current group:

This is the one made from clear square acrylic beads:

Setting up

Hi, I am just starting to set things up and need a post to see what it will all look like. More to come...
